The Steiger loop (approx. 18 km) – Cuxloch, Försterkranz, Wildenstall. These rare place names are located along the route and promise a wild area, right in the middle of 2 core zones of the South Harz Karst Landscape Biosphere Reserve.

Perhaps there were also some mysterious stories surrounding the present-day ruins of Grillenburg Castle. The Steiger loop provides insights into the history of the over 800-year-old copper mining that shaped human beings, landscape, and life in the Harz foreland region. The path leads you further - through intact, vast forests and to the idyllically located Kunstteich (artificial pond), inviting you to swim and rest.
