Circular trail around the Sweet Lake

Short description

A very relaxing cycling and hiking tour along the shores of the beautiful Süßer See through Seeburg, Wormsleben, Lüttchendorf & Aseleben. The path is very well developed (almost entirely paved), crosses few public roads, and offers many opportunities to relax by the meadows, vineyards, and lake promenades.

Description

The well-paved cycling and hiking trail leads through Seeburg, across Wormsleben, Lüttchendorf, and Aseleben back to Seeburg along the beautiful Süßer See. The path starts as a normal foot and bike path, turning into a paved road after the ascent of Schlossberg. Further minor ascents are only in Lüttchendorf and between Seeburg and Aseleben. There are many places to stop, such as the Orangerie Seeburg, Die Seeperle, or Gasthof Zahn in Aseleben with their bowling alley.

Route description

From the starting point, drive 200m along the foot and bike path up Schlossberg. From there, follow the paved road for about 800m until you reach the intersection where you turn left towards the lake. Now follow the north shore for 5.5km until you reach Unterrißdorfer Straße and continue towards Lüttchendorf. At the intersection of Karl-Marx-Straße and Thomas-Müntzer-Straße, turn left and continue for about 300m until you reach Am Klausanger, which then becomes Seestraße. After 1.4 km, the road splits, turn left and reach the lakeside path. After 2 km, you will reach Aseleben on your left, where you stay on the lakeside path by the lake. After another 1.6 km, you will reach the weekend house settlement Südufer, which you follow until you reach L80. Finally, drive 500m on the cycle path until you reach the Seeterassen. This is where our starting and ending point is located, after another 400m.

- Exit 20 Querfurt/Schraplau/Obhausen/Röblingen am See on the A38 motorway
- Turn left onto L176 towards Schraplau/Röblingen am See
- Continue on Schafseer Straße
- Take the second exit at the roundabout (Schraplauer Straße)
- Continue on Große Seestraße/Seestraße
- Continue on L176
- Turn right onto Eislebener Straße/B80
- Turn left onto L80
- Continue on Straße der Freundschaft

Parking information

There are 2 medium-sized parking lots directly in Seeburg and many other smaller parking and parking spaces.
The first is right across from Seeterassen on Straße der Freundschaft and another one is right at Schloss Seeburg.
