Directions

On the western city exit of Burg, follow the railway line to Möser. After the village of Detershagen, you will pass the restaurant Bocksmühle and turn into the forest area Zuwachs Külzauer Forst after the Waldschule. From here, you will reach solid paths over the Hölleberg to the Quickbornquelle. Then, with momentum, head to the impressive double lock Hohenwarthe. Here, you will be sluiced over 18m from the Mittellandkanal to the Elbe-Havel Canal.

Continue through the small lock settlement of Niegripp, which connects the Elbe and the Elbe-Havel Canal. Follow the Elbe Cycle Path and you will reach the village of Niegripp with its Kreuzkirche. On warm days, it is worth visiting the Niegripper See from here. Passing the remains of the old lock, continue on the Elbe Cycle Path. Take a break in the tranquil village of Schartau. Via the county road, you will return to the city of Burg.
