Zwischen Grafschaft und Kloster

Wonderful hiking trail with panoramic views through woods, meadows and wide open spaces past the culture and history of the county of Wertheim and the Cistercian monks in Bronnbach.

From the collegiate church, you pass the town hall (former princely court) and after a short steep climb, the trail continues halfway up through former vineyards, past orchards with wonderful views of the castle, Waldenhausen and the Tauber Valley. After a short passage through the forest, you reach sun-drenched dry stone walls. From the chapel, you walk past Reicholzheim to the legendary 14 stone crosses.
The route through the steep slopes of the Reicholzheim Satzenberg rewards you with fantastic views of the Bronnbach monastery before you reach the Schafhof farm. The last stretch along the Bronnbach stream takes you down into the valley to Bronnbach Monastery.(Return journey by train possible on the other side of the Tauber)

The return route takes you directly to the chapel and briefly uphill across fields and forests to Haidhof and the White Tower. At the end, you descend to Wertheim Castle with rewarding views of the old town and the mouth of the River Tauber into the Main.
