The Eckertal - we hike over hill and dale along the former inner-German border.

Description

Starting from the Kurpark, we climb up the Ettersklippe. Once at the top, we continue our hike to the Molkenhaus and take a break in a friendly atmosphere. We proceed along the Braunschweiger Weg until we reach the Eckertalsperre - a technological marvel. We take the path on the western side of the Eckertalsperre and follow the Pionierweg until we reach the Ecker crossing. On the eastern side, in the state of Saxony-Anhalt, we hike back to the reservoir and from there back to the Molkenhaus. We then follow the Kaiserweg to the Großer Burgberg and hike back down to the valley to the Kurpark, our starting point.

Access via the A395, continue on the B4 to Bad Harzburg

Parking information

Free public parking: large parking lot at the B4 and at Berliner Platz: fee-based public parking at the Burgberg cable car and opposite the Kurhaus Bad Harzburg.
