Altmark circular route: From the Hanseatic city of Tangermünde to the Hanseatic city of Stendal

The imperial stage of the Altmarkrundkurs: the bike tour from the imperial and Hanseatic city of Tangermünde to the Hanseatic city of Stendal, with a loop to Arneburg through the natural landscape of the Elbe valley.

Description

The stage from the Hanseatic city of Tangermünde to the Hanseatic city of Stendal is the imperial stage of the Altmarkrundkurs. We follow in the footsteps of Emperor Charles IV from the Hanseatic city of Tangermünde through the gently hilly landscape of the Elbe valley, passing by Storkau Castle until we reach the beautiful town of Arneburg, which towers high above the Elbe and enchants us with its city views and the views over the Elbe.

 

Directions

We cycle from the Hanseatic city of Tangermünde northwards following the well-signposted Altmarkrundkurs with the goal of Arneburg. Our interim stops are Hämmerten and Storkau.

In Arneburg, we change direction to the southwest and cycle via Wischer to the Hanseatic city of Stendal.
