BaudenSteig Circular Route No. 1: Bad Grund

Short Description

Route Description

From the parking lot (S), walk straight ahead across the marketplace, briefly follow the road to the right, then continue to the left. After 150 m, turn sharply right onto Hübichweg. Past the Kaiserquelle, path to the arboretum. At the hut, a beautiful viewpoint over Bad Grund (1). Descend, leave the arboretum and follow the road to the right. Past the Hüchichenstein. At the L242, turn right for 50 m and then steeply left uphill to the Albertturm (2) with a magnificent panoramic view over the Harz. After a rest in the lodge, follow the Baudensteig to the Schweinebraten intersection. Turn right downhill to the HöhlenErlebnisZentrum Iberger Tropfsteinhöhle (3). Cross the street and hike through the Devils Valley. Past the sports field and down the mountain road. After a few meters, take the footpath on the right and hike to the Baudensteig. Follow this back to the starting point.
