Description

The Garden Dreams consist of 50 historical parks and gardens in Saxony-Anhalt, describing the history of garden art and various garden types.

Start your cycling tour in Magdeburg and ride along the waterway cross to Burg with its four former garden show areas. Along the way, discover who inspired Theodor Fontanes Effi Briest and visit the late Romanesque Jerichow Monastery. The route continues through Bismarcks birthplace Schönhausen to Tangermünde with its medieval-looking cityscape. On your way back, explore Briest with its Renaissance castle and landscape park, as well as Tangerhütte with its city park. End your journey in Magdeburg with a visit to the Elbauenpark.

Route Description

Day 1:

Arrival in Magdeburg

Today, you will independently travel to the state capital of Saxony-Anhalt. In Magdeburg, you will find four Garden Dreams parks - Herrenkrugpark, Elbauenpark, Stadtpark Rotehorn, and Klosterbergegarten with the Gruson greenhouses.

After a short bike ride through the city park, you can also cycle through Klosterbergegarten, combined with a visit to the Gruson greenhouses.
