Altmark circular route: From the Hanseatic city of Seehausen to the Hanseatic city of Havelberg

This stage of the Altmark circuit takes us through three Hanseatic cities. We are accompanied by the expanse of the Elbe, the brick churches and medieval streets of the Hanseatic cities, and the manor houses of the Altmark.

Description

From the Hanseatic city of Seehausen, the path leads us into the typical landscape of the Altmark: vast fields, meadows in the Elbe lowlands, manor houses, and Romanesque churches in the proud city of Osterburg as well as in the Hanseatic cities of Werben and Havelberg on the Elbe.

And a crossing with the cable ferry concludes the tour just before Havelberg with another highlight. A perfect bike tour for nature and culture lovers.

The kilometers on the federal road between Seehausen and Osterburg are best started with a lot of momentum and driven through quickly.

Route description

From Seehausen, we reach the federal road in a few minutes. Now its time to cover kilometers, but the city of Osterburg rewards us for the short effort.

Behind Osterburg, the landscape becomes impressive, we drive through the Elbe valley landscape through small villages to Krusemark, where we change direction and drive a short distance back to the Hanseatic city of Werben.

From Werben, we continue along the Elbe to the ferry terminal. The cable ferry takes us to Havelberg.
