Flämingradweg - From Walternienburg to Dessau-Roßlau

Short description

The Fläming Cycle Path leads from the center of Fläming to the Elbe River. It connects the long-distance cycle path R1 in Bad Belzig with the Elbe Cycle Path in Walternienburg or Dessau-Roßlau and is the ideal cycle path to discover the beauties of the pre-Fläming region and the High Fläming region.

 

 

Description

Boulders, giant stones, castles, and mills characterize the Fläming landscape. Open theme churches and many Flemish fieldstone churches along the way invite you for a visit.

The nature-friendly regional cycling route leads through the Fläming/Saxony-Anhalt Nature Park and the High Fläming Nature Park in Brandenburg and can be completed in two stages. This tour describes the stage from Walternienburg, a district of Zerbst/Anhalt, to Dessau-Roßlau and is approximately 43 km long.

The Fläming Cycle Path is consistently signposted and invites you to take a detour from the regional cycle paths to get to know the special features of Fläming.

 

 

Route description

In the small town of Garitz, the route of the cycle path divides towards Dessau-Roßlau or Bad Belzig.

Travel information

The entry point to the connection between R1 and Elbe Cycle Path is also possible in Zerbst/Anhalt or Garitz.

 

Parking information

In Bad Belzig, parking is possible near the castle. Parking along the route is usually available at the sights or in the towns.

Safety information

The Fläming Cycle Path runs almost exclusively on existing roads and rural paths, which are 77% free of any or minor defects and suitable for cycling with children. In 20% of the route, defects arise from the traffic load when the cycle path is guided on the road.
