For experienced and well-equipped hikers, the charming ascent from Schierke through the Eckerloch to the Brocken is recommended. The rustic hiking trail starts a few meters behind the National Park House at the waterworks. With good footwear, this route over roots, rocky granite, and boardwalks is a true delight. Here you can experience the forest changing particularly well. The path leads along the rapids of the Schwarzes Schluftwasser to the Eckerloch wetland. The Eckerloch trail merges into the Brockenstraße, which then leads the hiker to the summit.
