You will find an idyllic and relaxed spot on earth when you take a hike around Rehhorst near Kalbe (Milde).
The 5 km long tour takes you along the Milde for a short distance and then through meadows and fields with a wide view. Passing by a Natura 2000 area, you may be lucky to observe resting birds. Since you are not far from the Milde town, you always have the church tower in view.
The tour starts at the hiking base near the MEDIAN Clinic. You walk past the MEDIAN Clinic towards the swimming pool and turn left into the white wall. Stay left along the Milde until you reach the intersection Gardelegener Straße/Westpromenade. Here, continue left along the Milde until you reach the Kuhbrücke. Once there, turn left into the Pappelallee. Now, follow the path straight ahead (approx. 1 km) until you turn left again. Follow the path that makes a curve and turn right after this curve. On the left side, you will see a wetland where many different species of animals reside. Keep going for about 300m, then turn left and arrive back in Kalbe, on Straße der Jugend. Walk along to the right and you will pass by the Goßlersches Schloss. Its worth taking a short walk through the boxwood garden. A little further on, you will arrive back at the starting point.
Coming from the north or south via B71, turn towards Wernstedt, then continue to Kalbe (Milde).
Coming from the direction of Stendal via Bismark, Neuendorf am Damm to Kalbe (Milde).
Parking facilities are available at the large parking lot of the MEDIAN Clinic.
Since you will be mostly on unpaved paths, it is advisable to have sturdy footwear.
Sturdy footwear and some water would be recommended.
