Wettiner Weg: Castles and Park Tour

Short Description

The 21 km long Castles and Parks Route connects some highlights in the Old Wettin Land. Here, a tour starting and ending in Zörbig is described. In the city, there is the KulturQuardat with the medieval castle guard, the local museum in the freshly renovated castle, and a museum restaurant. In the center of the city, there are other sights and facilities.

Description

From Zörbig, the route initially leads to Stumsdorf on a new cycle path. The village is also accessible by train. The Romanesque village church contains some valuable furnishings. This tour continues westward on an asphalted farm track to Werben with its church open daily and from there to Ostrau.

From Ostrau, the tour follows the main route of the Wettiner Weg via Mösthinsdorf, Cösitz Castle and Park, as well as Mößlitz Estate and Park back to Zörbig. The route is mostly flat, easy to ride, and due to its length and nature, suitable for families with children. Due to the various castles and parks, it offers a high level of experience.
