Description

After the confluence of the Unstrut into the Saale near Naumburg, the Saale becomes more leisurely and wider in the middle course. The tour starts in Blütengrund. Restaurants in Naumburg-Henne, at the gauge, and the Alte Felsenkeller invite you for breakfast. Worth seeing is the Schönburg Castle on the Romanesque Road. The imposing Goseck Castle rises above the Saale. South of Goseck, you pass the Oeblitz lock. A snack bar offers drinks and food for refreshment and strengthening. Alternatively, you can disembark in Uichteritz on the left bank to visit the Saale-Perle restaurant. The destination is the boathouse in Weißenfels. Its worth visiting the museum in Neu-Augustusburg Castle with an exhibition on shoemaking. Here, the Duke once discovered the musical talent of Georg Friedrich Handel, who was the son of his personal physician.

Navigating the weir at the Oeblitz lock is dangerous and therefore prohibited for everyone. Drive close to the right bank above to disembark and approach the lock.

The passenger ferry at Schellsitz always has the right of way.
