Day tour from the cathedral city of Merseburg to the Handel city of Halle

Description

The tour starts with a lock passage at the Rischmühle lock. This is followed by a panoramic tour through the center of Merseburg with a beautiful view of the cathedral and castle high above the Saale. Next is the Meuschau lock. Occasionally, patience is required - the lock keeper also has to operate the Rischmühle lock. After 5 km, a visit to the restaurant Boat House of the Merseburg Rowing Club is recommended for a rest and refreshment. After passing several bridges, a brief view of gigantic chemical plants opens up at Korbetha. The flow decreases slightly due to the backwater of the Planena barrage. This is followed by a section with typical riparian forest flora and fauna. The influx of the White Elster river widens and strengthens the current. Only a few kilometers remain until reaching the destination at the Rabeninsel Water Sports Club or HRV Böllberg.

km 11.4 RU - Lock entrance

km 11.5 RU - Entry and exit above the lock

km 11.5 Planena lock (operating from 1.5 to 15.10, Fri-Sun 9am-7pm)

km 11.7 RU - Entry and exit below the lock

km 19.2 LU - Wilden Saale weir / No entry! Pass on the right!

Km 19.6 RU - Rabeninsel Water Sports Club, camping sites, guest rooms, guest moorings

Km 19.8 RU - Hallesche Rudervereinigung Böllberg since 1884 and Nelson since 1874
