There is an excellent hiking area around Degenfeld, which offers numerous panoramic views over the Albvorland and the Dreikaiserberge mountains with the Kalte Feld at 781 m - the highest elevation in the Ostalb.
The trail starts at the Kalte-Feld-Halle on the outskirts of the village and leads up to the Eierberg via the Zillersteig. Past flower-filled heaths, the trail continues along the edge of the forest towards the Furtlepass. The sheep pastures on the Hornberg take you to the most beautiful vantage points with views of the Dreikaiser mountains. After the Hornberg gliding area, the trail leads along the eastern edge of the Kalten Feld to the saddle at the ski jumping center and on to the Galgenberg/Kreuzberg. At the DAV hut, a steep path finally leads back to Degenfeld.
The trail around Degenfeld is one of the "faith trails", which impressively combine the themes of hiking, faith and spirituality. It is one of 25 circular hiking trails and 7 stage trails through the charming region of Dreikaiserberge, Kaltes Feld and Albuch.
