Tour de Waldkirch - Ost

A varied circular hiking trail in and around the organ town of Waldkirch with many sights and viewpoints along the way.

We start the tour at the market square in Waldkirch. We follow the ZweiTälerSteig trail for a while and walk past the church of St. Margarethen to the "Felsenkeller" signpost station. At the next station, "Schänzle", we keep left and soon have a wonderful view of Waldkirch and Kastelburg Castle. A short detour to the Heldenkreuz is worthwhile here.

Now we follow the hiking trail down into the Dettenbach valley to the "Forstsiedlung" station. At the "Wisserwand" station, take a sharp right uphill past the St. Michael School for the Visually Impaired to the "Brünneledobel". Turn left along a narrow forest path to the "Seerosenweiher" pond.

A little further on, we pass the hang-glider and paraglider landing site. The stamp station for this tour is also located here. We continue our hike with beautiful views of the rear Elz valley and the Hörnleberg to the "Käppeledobel" station and can already see the Neungeschwisterkapelle chapel on the left below, which is well worth a visit.

We follow the path further, cross under the B 294 and follow the yellow diamond to the "Papiergässle" and continue along the Gewerbekanal to the Jungfernsteg, cross the Elz there and soon reach our starting point, the market square, via the Jünglingssteg and Engelstraße.
