The starting point for stage 4 is the market square in Waldkirch. You hike along the Alter Kandelweg to the Altersbach restaurant. Narrow, natural paths lead up to the summit of the Kandel.
At 1241 meters above sea level, you have a wonderful view of the Rhine plain, the Kaiserstuhl and the Vosges mountains from the Kandel. From the Kandel, the trail leads down via Sägendobel to the quaint village of St. Peter.</p
