Tour de Waldkirch - Nord: Familientour

A varied circular tour in and around the organ town of Waldkirch with many beautiful panoramic views. The Ritterweg trail also takes you to Kastelburg Castle - a highlight for young and old alike.

The tour is not only a hit with children. The Ritterweg and Kastelburg Castle in particular entice you to play all kinds of games.

But the wide view across to the Kaiserstuhl, over Waldkirch to the Kandel is also a great experience.

We start at the Marienbrunnen fountain on the Waldkirch market square and walk through Engelstraße and over the Jünglingssteg to the train station. We continue to follow the trail markings of the Kandelhöhenweg and the ZweiTälerSteig to the "Heitere" and along the Ritterweg to the "Vor der Burg" station. We reserve the detour to Kastelburg Castle for the way back.

Instead, we now follow the yellow rhombus to the "Waldkircher Haseneckle" and enjoy the wide view across the Kohlenbach valley to the Tännlebühl. We turn right and follow the forest path, always keeping to the right. At the "TV-Umsetzer" station, we cross the ZweiTälerSteig and the Kandelhöhenweg, but stay on our path until the next crossroads.

Now we descend on the path to the left, but now make the detour to Kastelburg Castle - where the stamp station for this tour is located - and enjoy the wide view over Waldkirch up to the Kandel before we hike back along the Ritterweg back to the starting point on the market square.
