Due to cutting measures, there will be closures in the area along the "Wasser-, Wald- und Wiesenpfad" from 13.11.2023 until probably 31.12.2023.

This is why the hiking trail is closed during this period!

The hike takes us through the idyllic Rötelbach valley and past imposing rock formations to magnificent viewpoints.

Very close to the Hermann Hesse town of Calw and yet in the middle of unspoilt nature. Our exciting, varied gourmet trail begins just a few meters from the market square surrounded by half-timbered houses. A hike for nature lovers and those who want to become one. On the first ascent, we are accompanied by ancient spruce and beech trees, then suddenly the first mighty red sandstone rock, the Gimpelstein, with a view of pulsating life. Immediately afterwards, an alpine trail leads us to the most gruesome spot in Calw Forest, the Scaffold The highlight of the hike is undoubtedly the path through the Rötelbach Valley, which is sure to captivate every hiker, young and old alike. Nevertheless, keep your eyes open, as the path can always be slippery. Another special experience is the Stubenfelsen. It doesn't take much imagination to play cops and robbers there, or to spend the night with a campfire under the rock in the middle of nature. Once we reach the summit, however, the pleasure of nature takes over from that of the palate. The Wanderheim in Zavelstein will delight us with its good regional cuisine and unique coziness. From there, a detour to the romantic old town of Zavelstein and the castle ruins is always worthwhile. After a well-earned break, we continue our hike along beautiful orchards, flat farm and forest paths back to Calw. It's worth keeping an eye out for wild boars at the wild boar enclosure or taking a few minutes to reflect at the Wölflesbrunnen.
The trail can of course also be started at any time at the hiking home in Zavelstein. Excellent parking facilities are available.</p
