Seeburgsteig

On the circular trail around Seeburg, we experience the scenic diversity of the Urach Ermstal valley. Secluded mixed forests, juniper areas and wildly romantic gorges make this hike a real insider tip on the Urach Alb.

The Seeburgsteig is one of our five premium hiking trails Grafensteige, which lead our hiking guests to the natural beauties within the Swabian Alb biosphere area. If you want to see a lot of the Urach Alb and also enjoy hiking undisturbed, this is the perfect tour for you. Across meadows, pastures, juniper heaths and other paths, this tour winds its way around the small village of Seeburg.

On the first half of the tour, we hike through a high valley above Seeburg, enjoy wonderful views of the village and Uhenfels Castle enthroned on the mountain opposite and pass several cattle gates between which, with a bit of luck, we may come across a kid or two. On the second half of the tour, we hike along the Trailfinger Weg to the source of the Erms spring in the wild and romantic Mühltal valley. The path meanders through the lush green mixed forest in the cool Trailfinger gorge and then leads up to the Littstein, which lies in the middle of a core zone of the Swabian Alb biosphere reserve. From here, we hike on wide plateaus over to the Burgberg down to the Seeburg memorial and reach our starting point again a short time later.
