Why has the urban forest changed so much and what does climate change have to do with it? What is the purpose of the strange growth covers and what will the forest look like in the future?

These and many other questions are answered on the ClimateChangePath.

You can find out what great things the forest does for us, what secrets tree rings hold and why it is sometimes so wet and cold despite global warming.
The ClimateChangePath is a hands-on experience: whether it's the CO₂ seesaw or the extreme weather wheel of fortune, there's lots to see, feel and try out. At the three photo stations, you can even help us document the development of the forest in fast motion over the next few years by posting the pictures on social media.

In addition to the trail, there is also the WaldPfade BW app, which provides further information. There is a kids' mode especially for children with exciting quiz questions and child-friendly content.
We recommend downloading the app before your visit, as cell phone reception on the trail may not be sufficient.

The trail is accessible with wheelchairs and baby carriages, but also has a few small inclines. If you come with a wheelchair or baby carriage, you should first follow the signs from the parking lot, but do not take the turn-off from the asphalt road that is actually signposted, but follow the asphalt road for about 50 meters and then take the next turn-off on the left. This is where the easily accessible gravel path begins. The first turn initially leads along a forest path with some bumps, which can be very muddy in rain and snow.

It was financed by funds from the Southern Black Forest model area project, which aims to support forest owners in coping with climate-related forest damage in the severely affected southern Black Forest region.
