A scenic tour through the southern slopes of the Heuchelberg

Heuchelberg - a name that not only makes wine lovers rave. The southern slopes of this mountain range protect the Zabergäu and ensure a pleasant climate in the region, which is characterized by viticulture and agriculture.

Your hike ideally starts at Nordheim train station. A short ascent via a vineyard staircase typical of the region leads to a wonderful viewpoint.The hiking tour takes you along the former old Württemberg moat, the "Swabian Limes", to the Heuchelberger Warte. There you will not only find the best hospitality, but you can also enjoy a fantastic panorama from the Wartturm: To the south, you can see as far as Stuttgart and to the east, the view opens up over the Löwenstein mountains into the Hohenlohe region.

After the break, head west along the southern high trail of the Heuchelberg between the edge of the forest and vineyards. Shady forest and sun-drenched vineyards determine your route to the second hiking parking lot. The proud Neipperg Castle is the western turning point of your hike. Shortly after passing it, you will be rewarded with wonderful views over the Zabergäu region. And the next reward is already waiting. You will soon reach the Hörnle, which is also farmed, so a small rucksack is all you need for the hike.After a long rest, the route then descends towards Nordhausen. From the 300-year-old Waldensian village, you return to Nordheim, the starting point of your hike. A fulfilling day of hiking comes to an end there - ideally in a cozy restaurant or with a wine tasting in one of the local wineries.
