Neckarweg im HeilbronnerLand

Impressive steep slopes and wine terraces often accompany hikers along the Neckar. From Bad Wimpfen, the Neckarsteig is a quality hiking trail.

The Neckar Trail runs along the Neckar from its source in Schwenninger Moos to Bad Wimpfen. From Bad Wimpfen, where the largest imperial palace north of the Alps can be admired, the Neckarweg becomes the Neckarsteig quality hiking trail. The Neckarsteig leads through the Odenwald forest to Heidelberg Castle.

The Neckarweg and Neckarsteig together form the longest long-distance hiking trail in Baden-Württemberg.

The Neckar Trail leads through the HeilbronnerLand region from Neckarwestheim to Bad Wimpfen, past the Hölderlin town of Lauffen and through the Käthchen and wine town of Heilbronn.

Enjoy mostly scenic, paved vineyard trails on this section.
