Frankenweg HW8 | Etappe HeilbronnerLand

In HeilbronnerLand from Maulbronn Monastery via the Heuchelberg in the nature park of the same name to Brettachtal in the Schwäbisch-Fränkischer Wald nature park.

With a total length of around 215 kilometers, the Franconian Trail HW8 of the Swabian Alb Association runs from Pforzheim via Heilbronn to Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

Around 80 km of this is a little "nature park hopping" in HeilbronnerLand through the Stromberg-Heuchelberg Nature Park, the Neckar Valley with the wine town of Heilbronn to the Swabian-Franconian Forest Nature Park.

Wonderful landscapes with deciduous forests and vineyards on the slopes open up to hikers along the trails. Numerous monasteries, castles and palaces line the route and old, historic sites surprise hikers.

From Maulbronn with its world-famous monastery, the route follows the same route as the "Eppinger Linien" quality hiking trail to Eppingen. The steep slope of the Keuper forests is climbed up to the Stromberg and Heuchelberg and the hiker reaches Heilbronn via the elongated ridge of the Heuchelberg, where the Neckar is crossed. From Heilbronn, the route then climbs once again up to the Löwenstein mountains in the Swabian-Franconian Forest Nature Park.
