A picturesque journey through time on a bike along the Elsenz river

A leisurely family cycle tour through the Elsenz Valley from Elsenz via Eppingen, Steinsfurt, Sinsheim to Zuzenhausen with history to experience along the way.

Here you cycle the "Museum Cycle Trail" section of the cycle route from the Elsenz spring to the Neckar. Both open-air stations and museums present Kraichgau's landscape and human history.

The cycle tour starts in Elsenz. After just a few kilometers, you will reach the "Raußmühle", a complete work of art on the outskirts of Eppingen. Immerse yourself in the Middle Ages: mousetraps, malt sacks, chickens and pigs greet you from days gone by. The route continues through the town center of Eppingen, which is part of the German Half-Timbered House Route with its half-timbered path. From here, there are five DB train stations along the route, where you can shorten the route as you wish.
The route continues from Eppingen to Richen. There, the Farmers' Museum shows you everyday culture and various (living) rooms from the old days.

Following the "Elsenztal-Tour" signs, you continue cycling through idyllic forest meadows with numerous lovely rest stops. Take a break and enjoy the Kraichgau panorama in front of you. After a break, the "Lerchennest" museum farm welcomes you in Steinsfurt and tells you about the time of Frederick the Great. A few kilometers further on you reach the Kraichgau metropolis of Sinsheim: learn more about the revolution of 1848 in the city and leisure museum.
You continue via the soccer village of Hoffenheim to Zuzenhausen (training ground of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim) to the end of the tour in Neckargemünd. Here you can comfortably board the train for the return journey.
