The perfect day trip to Untersee by bike and boat

This tour takes cyclists off the saddle and onto the boat right at the start. The MS Seegold of the Giess shipping company takes you from Überlingen landing site to Wallhausen on the opposite side of the lake.

On arrival in Wallhausen, follow the signs for the Lake Constance Cycle Path to the left parallel to the lakeshore through Dingelsdorf to Litzelstetten. While the Lake Constance Cycle Path runs straight ahead via the road "Am See", this tour leads steeply uphill via the streets "Im Tiergarten" and "Großherzog-Friedrich Straße" towards the town center. Follow the main road to the left and follow the cycle path signs past the large traffic circle straight ahead in the direction of Wollmatingen. A wide cycle path runs along the edge of the forest parallel to the main road, which is left straight ahead in a large right-hand bend. Past the paddocks and stables, the quiet path, which is restricted to car traffic, leads to Wollmatingen.

From the town center, follow the cycle path signs via Kindlebildstraße in the direction of Reichenau Island, which is reached via a long embankment lined with reeds. If you like, you can explore the island a little more by bike. Otherwise, keep left on the island and follow the cycle path signs to the harbor (water police).The route now takes around 10 minutes by boat across the lake to the Swiss shore at Mannenbach. Once there, keep left and travel parallel to the shores of Lake Constance in the direction of Constance. On the way, it is worth visiting Arenenberg Castle at the start of the route.On arrival in Constance, the route leads to the harbor behind the train station. If you like, you can leave your bike there and explore the old town on foot. Otherwise, you can take the BSB boat to Meersburg on the northern shore of Lake Constance.

Following the Lake Constance cycle path to the west, the route leads along the lakeshore via Unteruhldingen and past the Birnau monastery church back to Überlingen.
