Ulrikaweg Schloss Salem - Kloster Hegne

Behind Salem Castle, the well-signposted Prelate's Trail first leads through forests and fields and past ponds to Affenberg. From there, the route crosses the parking lot and past the restaurant, crosses the country road and then continues following the signs towards Birnau. The famous pilgrimage church is considered the most beautiful baroque church on Lake Constance. The magnificent view from the forecourt of the church across Lake Constance to the Swiss Alps and far into the interior of the country remains unforgettable for every visitor.From Birnau, the Lake Constance circular hiking trail leads along the lakeshore to Überlingen and along the lively lakeside promenade to the boat landing stage. The 15-minute boat trip from Überlingen to Wallhausen is ideal for taking a breather and refreshing body and soul.

In Wallhausen, the trail leads to a viewpoint above the "Ziegelhof" horse farm. Here you can enjoy a wonderful view of Lake Überlingen and the previous stage of the Ulrikaweg trail.The last section of the pilgrimage leads along forest paths over the Bodanrück to Hegne Monastery, the place where Sister Ulrika Nisch entered the convent of the Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross and where she found her final resting place in the crypt after her beatification.
