Familienwanderung von Nußdorf zum Affenberg

The approximately 12-kilometre circular hike is suitable for the whole family. (It is possible to shorten the tour-see description text)

The tour takes us away from traffic on agricultural paths past one of the most practical churches on Lake Constance, the Birnau pilgrimage church. Birnau is also known as the baroque jewel on Lake Constance, and from its forecourt you have a wonderful view of Lake Constance. From Birnau, the Prälatenweg leads us to our next stage destination, the Affenberg in Mendlishausen. Almost 200 Barbary macaques and many strokes live there in the wild in a 20-hectare forest. Along the approximately 1.5 km long circular trail, you can find lots of exciting information about the inhabitants of the Affenberg - it's definitely worth a visit! On our way back, we walk through the middle of nature past the Engeweiher pond and the vegetable fields of Hofgut Ralzhof. The barbecue hut at the Deisendorf sports field offers a great rest stop (registration required, tel. 07551/69586). You return to the starting point through the Nußbach valley.Smaller tour option:

If the hike is too long, you can also shorten the tour. During the summer months, the Line 1 adventure bus runs from Affenberg Salem to Uhldingen. From Uhldingen, you can use the bus connection (half-hourly service) with the lake line (7395) back to the starting point in Nußdorf.
