Breisgauer Weinweg - Abschnittswanderung von Emmendingen bis Malterdingen

The almost 100 km long Breisgau Wine Trail leads through the vineyards along the Black Forest from Freiburg to Oberschopfheim and is best completed in six stages.

We suggest the third stage for a day hike, which you can start in Emmendingen. The first section of the trail runs along the mountain cemetery towards the Eichberg tower. You will soon reach a crossroads with a border stone, where you will find the Breisgau Wine Trail markings. Head west, initially through the forest. Soon you come to open terrain and see the first vineyard of the Alte Burg site. You now walk downhill to the winegrowing village of Mundingen, which you cross and enter the adjacent vineyards. The open vineyard landscape offers sweeping views towards the Kaiserstuhl, Rhine and Vosges mountains. At Blumberg, you have a beautiful view of the small village of Heimbach below. The trail continues to the edge of Malterdingen, which was already famous for its red wines in the Middle Ages. Here you can leave the Breisgau Wine Trail and hike into the village. A beautiful market square with several inns invites you to stop for a bite to eat. From here, you have a bus connection to Emmendingen on line 7200.
