Radtour Schiefe Ebene, Hohenlohe

The alternation between the gentle undulations of the landscape and the deeply incised ravines and streams give the region its unmistakable beauty. They are striking testimony to the fact that we should only speak of the "Hohenlohe Plain" to a very limited extent. The tour takes you to places characterized by viticulture on the edge of the Hohenlohe district, to the Limes, to the Hohenlohe plain and to the highest elevation of the Hohenlohe district to Waldenburg.

We have chosen the wine-growing community of Pfedelbach as the starting point, but the tour can start at any point along the route. Pfedelbach impresses with its castle, which also has a popular wedding chapel. In the local history museum with historical photographs and in the Hohenlohe Wine Museum, you can learn about the history of Pfedelbach and Hohenlohe. The route continues via the wine-growing villages of Michelbach am Wald and Eschelbach. If you make a detour to Waldenburg, Hohenlohe's balcony, you will be rewarded with an impressive view. The stage stop on your first day is Künzelsau. The district town of the Hohenlohe district invites you to enjoy art and culture: Hirschwirtscheuer, Mustang Museum, town museum, Protestant town church with triumphal cross by Hans Jakob Sommer and pulpit by Leonhard Kern.

Refreshed and invigorated, the next day is worth a trip to the Gaisbach district to the Würth Museum with contemporary art from the Würth Collection and the Museum of Screws and Threads. On this stage, you will pass through many small villages that are still characterized by agriculture. A highlight of the tour is the well-known Wald & Schlosshotel Friedrichsruhe in the Zweiflingen suburb of Friedrichsruhe. The route continues to the fruit-growing centers of North Württemberg and the wine-growing community of Bretzfeld. In the Bretzfeld suburb of Siebeneich, it is worth taking a detour to the "Siebeneicher Himmelreich" nature trail with information boards on the varieties of wine and fruit grown.
