The forest belt in the west
To the west of the city, there are narrow, repeatedly interrupted strips of forest that extend from the shores of Lake Constance in a northerly direction almost as far as Leimbach under the Gehrenberg. This is the Buchschach, an important green belt for the local ecosystem with an important local recreational function for the people from the housing estates in its immediate vicinity. A longer section of the hike leads through this forest.The first part of the hike runs through open, panoramic terrain, with longer stretches in the forest from the apex.
