Von Friedrichshafen in die malerische Landschaft um Markdorf, der Stadt überm See

The idyllic tour leads through wooded areas, past meadows and
orchards to the lively old town of Markdorf - always with fantastic views of Lake Constance.

The tour starts at the tourist information office in Friedrichshafen. Head north through the Riedlepark on the signposted and paved main route. Towards the end of the forest, the paved path splits - take the left fork. Out of the forest, the route takes you past the listed Zeppelindorf with its show house (May to October, Sundays 12 - 5 pm). You leave the town with a view of the suburb of Berg and turn left onto the route of the former Teuringer valley railroad on the path that descends towards the Rohrbach. Follow this idyllic route. A T-junction at a wooded area changes the route: you cycle along the paved road to the left up the slope to the Kappelhof. A somewhat bumpy dirt track of around 500 meters leads you uphill to the forest in the direction of Raderach.

The path leads along the edge of the forest to the Hochkreuz Chapel between
Riedheim in the south and Bergheim in the north. The tour winds
onwards to the historic town of Markdorf. Follow the Weinsteige up to the beautiful old town. You come to the Untertor and can cycle out of town along the main street, which is lined with many stores. Passing meadows and forest edges, you cycle through small villages that pave the way to Ittendorf. Through the gently undulating lake hinterland of the Linzgau region, the route continues via Hundweiler, Reute and Kippenhausen to the vacation resort of Immenstaad am Bodensee. Special highlights here include the lido and a tour on the Lädine, a historic sailing ship. You leave the town and follow the signs for the Lake Constance cycle path to Fischbach and past the baroque castle church, the landmark of the town of Friedrichshafen, back to the starting point.
