Königin-Olga-Weg

A varied walk from the city center to a famous panoramic square near the elevated Berger church.

From the city train station, take the beautiful Riedleparkstraße with its tree-lined footpath between the lanes to the Riedlewald. It is a piece of unspoiled nature in the middle of the city. In the immediate vicinity is the sports park with the ZF Arena, which serves as a training and playing venue for the Bundesliga volleyball team VfB Friedrichshafen, the sports pool and the Teakwondo Competence Center Friedrichshafen. Just after the forest, you reach Zeppelindorf, a listed workers' housing estate built by Count Zeppelin between 1914 and 1920 for airship construction workers. After Jettenhausen, the path climbs up through orchards to Berg. The church at the highest point, which can be seen from afar, forms the grand finale of this special city walk. The extensive Alpine panorama from the square in front of the church ranges from the Allgäu Alps in the east to the four-thousand-metre peaks in the Bernese Oberland with the world-famous Eiger-Mönch-Jungfrau triumvirate in the southwest.
