Description by the author

The variety of different landscapes and their different uses make the "Hohenloher Land" so attractive and distinctive. It is said that valleys are the lifelines of every landscape. This is particularly true of the Kocher and Jagst valleys, although almost all of the larger towns are located in the valleys and the arterial roads also run along the rivers for long stretches.

Those who are less attracted to the hustle and bustle of the small towns and prefer the tranquillity of nature and the countryside can indulge this passion in the numerous side valleys of the Kocher and Jagst rivers. You will be surprised by the variety of valley shapes and the diversity of uses. From the pathless and rockless

Creek exploration, a field path through orchards or a comfortable forest path in a quiet forest valley, there are all kinds of opportunities for recreation close to nature. The Keuper heights of the Waldenburg Mountains, the Löwenstein Mountains and the Mainhardt Forest offer hikers and those seeking relaxation the most attractive hiking opportunities, especially in the warm summer months. Narrow forest valleys, wooded plateaus and orchards on the valley flanks are typical of the Keuperbergland.

The predominantly agricultural "Hohenlohe Plain" and the "Kocher-Jagst Plain" are known as the granary of the Hohenlohe region. Despite agricultural use, they are not completely "cleared". Wooded strips along the numerous streams, field hedges and copses as well as large, old pear trees along the paths in some areas also give these parts of the landscape their charm. It is just as impossible to describe the Hohenloher Land with all its special features as it is to experience all its beauty on a short drive through. So when signs on the A 6 highway between Heilbronn and Nuremberg point out the "Kocher", "Jagst" and the "Hohenloher Ebene", remember: this is a wonderful region that needs to be explored! A day trip is an experience, even more so a longer vacation.</p
