Description by the author

This tour takes you along the 1st stage (Meßkirch - Pfullendorf) of the Linzgau Way of St. James.

The historic monastery in Wald offers a real highlight for pilgrims with the adjacent monastery church of St. Bernhard. Wald Abbey was founded in 1212 by Burkard von Weckenstein as a Cistercian monastery. It is therefore only natural that a section of the pilgrimage route is located near the building. This small section runs through a forest and is particularly enchanting due to the tranquillity it brings. The gravel forest path is easy to walk on and straight, so it is also suitable for older people who are still steady on their feet.
