Hiking trail along the former national borders of today's Ostrach municipal area
The 13 km long "surveying trail" runs along both sides of the Ostrach. Although this has nothing to do with the unique reed landscape, the Kingdom of Württemberg, the Grand Duchy of Baden and the Principality of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen used to border each other on what is now the municipal area of Ostrach. The nature trail is part of the Burgweiler boundary stone museum, whose open-air site is located at the start of our hike. The hike also touches the nature trail again and again, where boards provide a wealth of interesting information on route and height surveying, satellite surveying and cartography. The nearby borders were also very convenient for the robber gangs, who were able to escape pursuit after a raid with a stone's throw to the other country. The Laubbach mill and the stele at the place where "Schwarz Vere" was captured are on our route. You can also take part of the route.
