Wonderful tour through vineyards, agricultural areas and along the historic "Hohe Straße" trade route with unique views of the Kocher Valley and through the Sindelbach Valley - a tributary of the Jagst. The route profile gives cyclists a feel for the variety and diversity of the Hohenlohe landscape.
Ingelfingen is a state-approved health resort and has been a town since 1334. The Kocher town with its castle experienced a heyday from 1701 to 1805 as the residence of the Princes of Hohenlohe-Ingelfingen. The partially preserved town wall, the Old and New Castles and the Schwarze Hof (former town palace) are visible witnesses to a great historical past. The landscape is characterized by viticulture. Since 1975, the Hohenlohe Wine Queen has been crowned annually in August as part of the Criesbach Wine Festival with large numbers of local residents and guests from near and far.Muschelkalk- Museum Hagdorn: "Making the stones talk" is a special concern of the natural scientist Dr. h. c. Hans Hagdorn. The museum set up by the town of Ingelfingen brings visitors closer to the world of shell limestone 240 million years ago in a didactically excellent way. At that time, our country lay in the subtropics and was covered by the shell limestone sea.The Ingelfinger barrel standing high up in the vineyards is the second largest wooden barrel in Europe with a self-supporting wooden structure. It houses a small wine museum with numerous exhibits from Hohenlohe viticulture. It can be viewed from the outside and rented by appointment, www.ingelfinger-fass.de.
