Where water falls and forest silence reigns.
Things to see and know:
The Wanderheim Eschelhof, with public restaurant, belongs to the Swabian Alb Association. Two beautiful half-timbered buildings, benches, tables and a children's playground invite you to rest and spend the night. Open on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Four large farmers lived in the hamlet of Eschelhof in 1720. From 1838, the state forestry administration acquired all four farms with land. The Eschelhof becomes a state domain. Only two buildings remain standing. A school is set up in them, later a forester's lodge. In 1974, the conversion into a hiking home for the Swabian Albverein begins. You can read more about the history of the Eschelhof in its wooded surroundings on a large information board. The 23-metre-high Bürg fortified tower near Winnenden is visible from afar. It belonged to the former Bürg Castle, also known as Altwinnenden Castle. Built in 1181
