Kaiserstuhlpfad

Enjoy and experience the wonderful landscape of the Kaiserstuhl, a low mountain range of volcanic origin up to 557m above sea level, on a unique journey of discovery.

The trail is around 22 kilometers long and takes you along the north-south axis over the highest elevations of the Kaiserstuhl. A large part of the route runs parallel to the "Neunlindenpfad" theme trail. This takes its name from the nine-linden tower. Along various sections of the trail, which are characterized by different landscapes, you will encounter one or two natural spectacles on your hike.Around 35 orchid species can be found in the Kaiserstuhl. The flowers are at their peak in May and June. For ornithologists and attentive hikers, a colorful bird provides joy - the bee-eater. The bee-eater, with its colorful tropical plumage, is the most exotic bird in the Kaiserstuhl and a special feature north of the Alps. It only nests in particularly dry and warm areas and arrives in the Kaiserstuhl in May before leaving for its wintering grounds in Africa at the beginning of September.

Note on the signposting

A reference to the Kaiserstuhl Trail can be found on the Black Forest Association's signposts at the crossroads. Between these junctions, the yellow diamonds indicate the direction.</p
