Description by the author

Weingarten is widely known for its magnificent basilica and the annual blood ride. Word has yet to get around that the town is also the starting point for wonderful hikes. The hike through the south-western part of the Altdorf Forest combines the cultural and historical jewel "Stiller Bach" with the Rößlerweiher pond and particularly beautiful sections of the Laura Valley. The starting point is in Nessenreben, where a dip in the water of the outdoor pool at the end of the hike is refreshing - or a cozy "Hock" in the beautiful beer garden of the Hofgut is tempting.
