Calw 1 - Schweinbachtal-Trailrunning

Beautiful run through the Schweinbach valley with a very high proportion of trails. Along the stream with a moderate gradient but technically demanding. Shortcut option at the stone bridge for about an hour. Return to Hirsau via the Felsenmeerweg trail on the same slope.

The historic Hirsau monastery complex and the natural Schweinbach valley are highlights of this circular tour, which runs through fragrant forests and along the babbling brook.

The tour starts at the parking lot in front of the historic St. Peter and Paul monastery complex in the Calw district of Hirsau. Before or after the tour, it is worth exploring the monastery and the adjoining hunting lodge on a guided tour or on your own and immersing yourself in the history of this important place of faith. From the parking lot at the monastery, you first pass the deer enclosure. The trail continues along narrow paths through the valley, crossing the babbling brook several times. A short detour to the Steinerne Brückle is worthwhile - a great spot for a souvenir photo. The route continues up through the idyllic Schweinbach valley. We make a short loop before reaching Oberreichenbach. From here, we pass through the village before heading downhill through a fragrant forest full of spruce and pine trees. Wide forest paths and great trails alternate wonderfully on this section of the route. Finally, the tour takes us past the deer enclosure before we arrive back at the monastery parking lot.
