The trail leads through a variety of wooded areas and open fields. The views offer sweeping vistas in various directions. The small valleys with their streams are also charming. The number of rest areas is above average and in the right places. The distances are chosen so that families with small children will also find enough places to take a break.

Numerous rest points invite you to linger. Great viewpoints open up again and again. Various forest landscapes, small water-bearing ditches and wetlands impress young and old hikers alike. A large part of the Saarland can be seen from the height of the "Sengert" (500 m). The large game enclosure at the refuge offers an insight into the local wildlife and fish can be observed at the pond. An educational bee trail with an insect hotel provides information about the life of local insects. At the Nahe spring itself, there is a small playground and a "book tree" with literature for children to borrow or swap.
