Old quarries, sweeping views and idyllic valleys characterize the distinctive character of this challenging tour. Ambitious hikers can expect a lively mix of varied landscapes with a high proportion of nature trails on old and new paths on the panoramic trail.

The hike leads along mostly natural forest and meadow paths past old quarries, through idyllic stream valleys with remarkable ascents and descents. For the next few hours, we will be walking on forest and meadow paths without exception.After a strenuous section through the forest, you come to a meadow path. This is followed by an adventurous section over serpentines into the next stream valley. Surefootedness is required on this narrow forest path.The ascent to the Bitschberg is strenuous, but is rewarded with a longer, almost flat passage along extensive pastureland with views of the foothills of the Hunsrück.

A path runs along the "Langheck", which was already in use in Roman and probably also Celtic times. The ancient stonework is still visible on some sections today. The "Wiesenlandschaft bei Überroth" nature reserve begins not far away. The mountain wood hyacinth, common devil's-bit scabious, medicinal cicely and arnica thrive in the extensive meadow landscape.

At the end of the hike with wide meadows and pastures with grazing as well as the many magnificent views, a challenging 650 meters in altitude have been overcome.The trail has been awarded 68 experience points by the German Hiking Institute.
