!! Closure during the week from 23.11.2023!!!

Due to timber harvesting measures, there will be closures in the area along the "Wasser-, Wald- und Wiesenpfad" from 23.11.2023 until probably mid-February. During the week (Monday to Friday), the hiking trail will therefore be closed during this period!

The closure is lifted on Saturday and Sunday. However, disruption and soiling is to be expected due to the timber harvesting work.We thank you for your understanding.

The first gourmet trail in the district of Calw will quickly captivate you with its multifaceted impressions. It is a hike for nature lovers and those who want to become one. You will enjoy dreamlike views, rustic forests, idyllic streams, cultural highlights and wild companions.

The start of our exciting and varied gourmet trail begins at the hiking home in Zavelstein. On our upcoming hike, we are accompanied by beautiful orchards, flat farm and forest paths to Calw. It is worth keeping an eye out for wild boars at the wild boar enclosure or taking a few minutes to reflect at the Wölflesbrunnen. The Hermann Hesse town of Calw, located in the middle of unspoiled nature, is well worth a detour. A few meters from the market square surrounded by half-timbered houses, we return to our hike for nature lovers and those who want to become one. On the ascent, we are accompanied by ancient spruce and beech trees, then suddenly the first mighty red sandstone rock, the Gimpelstein, with a view of vibrant life. Immediately afterwards, an alpine trail leads us to the most gruesome spot in Calw Forest, the Scaffold. The highlight of the hike is undoubtedly the path through the Rötelbach Valley, which is sure to captivate every hiker, young and old alike. Nevertheless, keep your eyes open, as the path can always be slippery. Another special experience is the Stubenfelsen. It doesn't take much imagination to play cops and robbers there. Once we reach the top, however, the pleasure of nature takes over from that of the palate. The hiking inn in Zavelstein will delight us with its good regional cuisine and unique coziness. From there, a detour to the romantic old town of Zavelstein and the castle ruins is always worthwhile.

The trail can of course also be started from Calw at any time. Excellent parking facilities are available.
