Auf der Fährte des Rothirsches - 1. Etappe Freudenstadt - Besenfeld - Variante 1 b

Stage 1 of our hiking tour: the more challenging variant from the Hotel Teuchelwald via the Freudenstadt market square via Klosterreichenbach with wonderful views to Seewald-Besenfeld and the Hotel Oberwiesenhof.

You start at the Hotel Teuchelwald and reach Freudenstadt town centre after a short walk via the Rosenweg and the Wölperwiesenweg. You enter the market square by the water area, which invites you to take a break with its 50 bubbling fountains. The town hall with its museum of local history and the unique town church in the shape of an angled hook are well worth a visit. Now leave Germany's largest market square and head out of town on Mittelweg. Walk past the tree of peace (sequoia tree) to Klosterreichenbach with its remarkable monastery church and wonderful views along the Kirchweg up to the heights. From there, the Mittelweg leads through dense forests to the idyllic Besenfeld. The Hotel Oberwiesenhof is located in the middle of the village.</p
