Description by the author

From the vibrant centre of Berlin the hobby skippers then continue along the centuries-old canals and out into the idyllic countryside. While the Oder-Havel Canal meanders through the Barnim Nature Park, the Finow Canal makes its way between impressive industrial heritage buildings, meadows and forests.
The absolute highlight of the tour is the Niederfinow boat lift. The boat lift is strong enough to lift yachts and boats up to a weight of 1,000 tonnes and to a height of 36 metres. The Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve promises fascinating nature observations.Length/duration: 172 kilometres (4–5 days)Start: Marina Lanke, BerlinFinish: Marina GartzHow to get there:Public transport: Take the RB18972 (Nauen) regional train from Berlin central station to Berlin Spandau.
