Border route

The tour starts in Højer in Denmark and takes you via Rudbøl to Tønder. From here the route runs south to the border to Aventoft in Germany. It continues on the German side to Süderlügum. Via Ellhöft you then reach Lydersholm in Denmark. From there, the route leads south again to Ladelund, then on via Rens to Jardelund. After you have crossed the border again, you will reach Fårhus (Sheep House) in Denmark. From here it is only a stone's throw to Flensburg.

The approximately 130 km long border route allows cyclists to immerse themselves in the cultural history of the German-Danish border region. Between the North Sea dike and the Flensburg Fjord, the route crosses the former border route that shaped the area for 80 years. Idyllic paths lead you today through varied natural landscapes. In the west you will enjoy the expanse of the marsh, inland dunes and heath characterize the Geest, and in the east you will pass through the hilly country shaped by the ice age. Numerous information points tell you curious, entertaining and local stories about the special life on the border. The 66 km long Nord-Ostsee-Radweg complements the border route as an "express route" between the North Sea and the Baltic Sea.
