Disover the parks and gardens of Görlitz

Görlitz is a city which is not only characterised by a beautiful architecture but also by a varied park landscape. The tour starts at one of the oldest landscape parks in Germany. More than 500 years ago a copy of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem was built in Görlitz. In the surrounding area also the "Ölberggarten", the Kidron stream and the Via Dolorosa were created. St. Nicholas' Cemetery is located only a few steps from the "Ölberggarten". It is one of the most beautiful baroque cemeteries in Germany. Via Nikolaistraße you will reach the entrance of another beautiful park called Nikolaizwinger. Walk behind St. Peter's church to the Uferstraße where the entrance of the Ochsenbastei is located. This park can be recommended, particularly when the wisteria is in bloom. At the exit of the Ochsenbastei follow the Bergstraße to the Uferpark. The way continues through the vineyard area along the Neisse River to the Berggarten and ends at the Kreuzkirchenpark in Reuterstraße.
