On the occasion of the 600th anniversary of the village, three hiking trails have been created in and around Kostebrau. The hiking trails were developed by members of the Kostebrau Hiking Club.The shortest is the local hiking trail, which familiarizes the hiker with the sights of the village. A bit longer is the industrial hiking trail. Along this path, one can learn about the industrial history of Kostebrau. And last but not least, the mining hiking trail, which showcases the mining history of this small island village. All three hiking trails have common waypoints, so the path can be changed as well.The mining hiking trail passes by two viewpoints that offer a glimpse of the former open-cast mining areas.
